nginx16 - A release of nginx, a web and proxy server with a focus on high concurrency, performance and low memory usage. This version introduces a number of new features, including various SSL improvements, support for SPDY 3.1, cache revalidation with conditional requests, and authentication request module.

This collection is EOL since Oct 2016.

Instructions

You can get started in three easy steps:

# 1. Install a package with repository for your system:
# On CentOS, install package centos-release-scl available in CentOS repository:
$ sudo yum install centos-release-scl

# On RHEL, enable RHSCL repository for you system:
$ sudo yum-config-manager --enable rhel-server-rhscl-7-rpms

# 2. Install the collection:
$ sudo yum install nginx16

# 3. Start using the software collection:
$ scl enable nginx16 bash

At this point you should be able to use nginx just as a normal application. Some examples of new available commands follow:

$ nginx -v
$ service nginx16-nginx start

In order to view the individual components included in this collection, including additional subpackages, you can run:

$ sudo yum list nginx16\*

nginx Software Collection as Docker Formatted Container

On CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 you can pull the image with the following command:

$ docker pull rhscl/nginx-16-rhel7
