rh-passenger40 - A release of Phusion Passenger, a web and application server, designed to be fast, robust, and lightweight. It supports Ruby using the ruby193, ruby200, or rh-ruby22 Software Collections together with Ruby on Rails using the ror40 or rh-ror41 Collections. It can also be used with nginx 1.6 from the nginx16 Software Collection and with Apache httpd from the httpd24 Software Collection.

This collection is EOL since April 2018.

Instructions

You can get started in three easy steps:

# 1. Install a package with repository for your system:
# On CentOS, install package centos-release-scl available in CentOS repository:
$ sudo yum install centos-release-scl

# On RHEL, enable RHSCL repository for you system:
$ sudo yum-config-manager --enable rhel-server-rhscl-7-rpms

# 2. Install the collection:
$ sudo yum install rh-passenger40

# 3. Start using software collections:
$ scl enable rh-passenger40 bash

At this point you should be able to use passenger just as a normal application. Some examples of commands you can run:

$ passenger start
$ passenger status

In order to view the individual components included in this collection, including other packages that allow you to use passenger with Ruby 2.0 or 1.9.3, instead of 2.2 as in example above, just run:

$ sudo yum list rh-passenger40\*

Phusion Passenger Software Collection as Docker Formatted Container

On CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 you can pull the image with the following command:

$ docker pull rhscl/passenger-40-rhel7
