rh-php56 - A release of PHP with PEAR 1.9.5 and enhanced language features including constant expressions, variadic functions, arguments unpacking, and the interactive debugger. The memcache, mongo, and XDebug extensions are also included.

Instructions

You can get started in three easy steps:

# 1. Install a package with repository for your system:
# On CentOS, install package centos-release-scl available in CentOS repository:
$ sudo yum install centos-release-scl

# On RHEL, enable RHSCL repository for you system:
$ sudo yum-config-manager --enable rhel-server-rhscl-7-rpms

# 2. Install the collection:
$ sudo yum install rh-php56

# 3. Start using the software collection:
$ scl enable rh-php56 bash

At this point you should be able to use php just as a normal application. Examples of commands run might be:

$ php my-app.php
$ sudo yum install rh-php56-php-devel yum install libxml2-devel
$ sudo pear install Cache_Lite
$ sudo pecl install xmldiff

In order to view the individual components included in this collection, including additional PHP modules, you can run:

$ sudo yum list rh-php56\*

PHP Software Collection as Docker Formatted Container

On CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 you can pull the image with the following command:

$ docker pull rhscl/php-56-rhel7
