# On CentOS, install package centos-release-scl available in CentOS repository:
$ sudo yum install centos-release-scl-rh

# On RHEL, enable RHSCL repository for you system:
$ sudo yum-config-manager --enable rhel-server-rhscl-7-rpms

# 2. Install the collection:
$ sudo yum install rh-nodejs10

# 3. Start using software collections:
$ scl enable rh-nodejs10 bash

The last command runs the Bash shell in the environment with rh-nodejs10 Software Collection enabled. At this point you should be able to use NodeJS just as a normal application. Here are some examples of commands you can run:

$ node my-app.js
$ npm install uglify-js --global
$ uglifyjs my-app.js -o my-app.min.js

In order to view the individual components included in this collection, including additional NodeJS modules, you can run:

$ sudo yum list rh-nodejs10\*

Node.js Software Collection as a Container Image

On CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 you can pull the image with one of the following commands, depending on which variant you prefer:

$ docker pull registry.access.redhat.com/rhscl/nodejs-10-rhel7
$ docker pull centos/nodejs-10-centos7
